Louis Frick

Louis FrickLouis Frick, of La Mesa, was appointed to the State Independent Living Council on April 17, 2009.  He is the Executive Director of Access to Independence (a2i), the Independent Living Center serving San Diego and Imperial Counties.  As Executive Director, he oversees the development and management of the organization’s $1.7 million annual budget, and serves as their chief spokesperson. 

Louis has more than 14 years leadership and management experience with specific experience in the areas of Finance, Strategic Planning, Business Operations, Consulting, Education, and Health Care.  His personal experience with disability enhances his understanding of independent living, as does his Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education (BVE), from San Diego State University. 

In addition to his professional career, Louis has served on the Executive Committee for the California Foundation for Independent Living and the Super Bowl 2003 Host Committee.  He is on the Advisory Board of the Interwork Institute, San Diego State University Foundation, and he serves as a Board member and elected officer for the National Council on Independent Living.
